The Institute's library system is Gegnir. It is possible to search in allmost all Icelandic libraries at the same time or just one.

The search machine  leitir.is  searches at the same time in Gegnir and several other Icelandic collections, as  Bækur.is  - a digital collection of old Icelandic printed books,  Elib - from the Nordic House, Hirsla - the scientific articles collection of Landsspítali The University Hospital,  Hvar.is - foreign journals and databases,  Ljósmyndasafns Reykjavíkur  - a photographic collection, Skemman - the Icelandic Universites' collection of dissertations and Timarit.is - Icelandic journals and newspapers.

There are also several useful texts and information in the Institute's subject fields to be found on the Internet.
