Place Name Database The Department of Name Studies maintains the Institute’s Place Name Database. Services The Department of Name Studies offers assistance to individuals, institutes, communities, and companies, among other things by disseminating information and answering inquiries. Research The Department of Name Studies places emphasis on research connected to place names, personal names, and other topics connected with name studies. Cooperation The Department of Name Studies cooperates with many different Icelandic and foreign institutes. The Department administers the Place Name Committee. |
