The Course

The groups will have 80 hours of instruction in language and cultural competence, four classes a day.

70 hours of instruction in grammar, language exercises, and text reading and 10 lectures of modern Icelandic society and culture.

Two excursions to places of historical and geographical interest

The participants will be given the opportunity to have guided tours of the
National Museum, Cultural House, The Settlement Exhibition and of the Alþingi.

Classes are scheduled 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, in the morning and early afternoon. Class attendance is obligatory.

Language instruction is mainly in Icelandic, but English will serve as the second language in teaching.

The students will have an access to the University's computers during the daytime, they can also use the University's wireless net.

A certificate will be issued upon completion of the course. Credits: Up to 10 ECTS at BA level.
