The Árni Magnússon Institute in Icelandic Studies has devised and approved a new policy on open access and open data. The policy on open access means that anyone can interface with material, including the full text of books and articles, through open online access.

Open access applies to:

• The institute’s journals
• Published books
• Employee articles
• Databases

This policy on open access means not only that the public is granted access to the institute’s data, but also that anyone can use, process and share this data in any way they see fit. In this way, the policy optimizes accessibility and usage of the data.
